Mongolian girls earn bronze at the 14th European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad held in Pristina, Kosovo. The competition ran from April 11 to 16, 2025, bringing together young mathematicians from around the world.
A total of 230 girls from 56 countries took part in the Olympiad. Each contestant solved complex mathematical problems over two days. Every test session lasted four hours and 30 minutes, testing the depth of their mathematical skills.
Mongolia’s team included four talented students from various schools across the country. Bolor Naranbaatar came from “Erdemiin Khishig” Secondary School. Misheel Ankhbayar represented “Orchlon” International School of Mongolia. Oyunbilig Bandi studied at “Kharkhorin” School, and Anu Altangerel attended Secondary School No. 11 in Ulaanbaatar.
Three members of the team earned bronze medals. Misheel, Bolor, and Anu each showed strong problem-solving abilities and focus under pressure. Meanwhile, Oyunbilig received an honorable mention for her impressive performance.
The Mongolian girls earn bronze after months of preparation and training. They worked closely with their mentors and coaches to prepare for the Olympiad. Khulan Tumenbayar led the team, while Tsogzolmaa Saizmaa served as the deputy leader.
Their hard work paid off. Mongolia placed 33rd overall out of the 56 countries that competed. This performance demonstrated the growing strength of Mongolia’s young mathematicians on the world stage.
Mongolian girls earn bronze at international math contests more frequently each year. Their achievements inspire more students, especially girls, to explore careers in science and mathematics.
This result also reflects the importance of investing in education. It highlights the role of international academic events in shaping future talent and building global friendships.
