Mongolian Junior Boxers Win Three Medals at Asian Boxing Championships

Mongolian junior boxers had a successful run at the Asian Boxing Championships held in Amman, Jordan, from April 19 to 30, 2025. The championship featured 405 athletes, including 250 boys and 155 girls, from 18 countries. Seven athletes from Mongolia participated, guided by coaches R. Jolaman and J. Bat-Otgon.

Among the standout performances, A. Altazul secured the silver medal in the U17 girls’ 46 kg category. T. Davaajav won the bronze medal in the U17 boys’ 75 kg category. Meanwhile, N. Akhmetkhan also earned a bronze medal in the U15 boys’ 40 kg category.

The success of the Mongolian junior boxers reflected their hard work and dedication in the competition. These achievements marked a proud moment for Mongolian boxing, as the athletes demonstrated skill and determination against fierce international competition.

In addition to the boxers’ accomplishments, B. Atarbayar, an International Master of Sports and a three-star referee for the International Boxing Association (IBA), earned recognition for his role at the championship. Atarbayar was nominated as the “Best Referee” for his exceptional service during the event.

Overall, the Asian Boxing Championships highlighted the rising talent in Mongolian boxing. The country’s junior athletes continue to make a strong impact on the international stage.
